Prof. Dr.-Ing. Carlos Jahn, Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH) and Fraunhofer Center for Maritime Logistics and Services (CML).
Carlos Jahn is Professor of Maritime Logistics at Hamburg University of Technology. At the beginning of his professional career, he served as a sailor and later on as a deck officer in the German Navy. Thereafter Carlos Jahn held various management and staff functions in science and industry focusing on logistics systems and strategies.
In 2009, he accepted the offer of a full professorship and was appointed Head of the Institute of Maritime Logistics at Hamburg University of Technology. Since 2010 he is also director of the Fraunhofer Center for Maritime Logistics and Services CML.
Carlos Jahn holds degrees in Mechanical Engineering (Dipl.-Ing.), in Economics (Dipl.-Kfm.) and has received a doctorate in Engineering (Dr.-Ing.). His areas of research cover ship and sea traffic management, port and terminal development and maritime supply chain optimization.
